Stay true and carry on

Devin started his Fapon journey in September, 2018. The story began when he was deeply touched by the practical and entrepreneur spirit in Fapon. On his first day, Devin was warmly received, and Vincent, the department manager, showed him around the labs patiently with a detailed introduction. This good rapport of the team made Devin believe that the company could make the best use of talents and resources, and that he would contribute to the future success.

Devin started with R&D works of activity platforms. He led a team of two members to establish the second activity platform. Afterwards, as the manager of activity research projects, he took charge in activity method development and activity detection for several R&D projects. His 5 years in Fapon are crystalized in hardworking and common growth with the company.

The first year in Fapon was hard. The activity platform was newly established, so, Devin worked intensely in a harsh environment. However, Devin remained true to his work and devoted to overcoming challenges. He saw it more than a job, but also something meaningful. During the R&D of activity methods, he was responsible for organizing his colleagues to donate blood for immunology research. There was one time when he was deeply impressed because the whole department, and even the colleagues from the whole company participated in blood donation. Devin used his knowledge of immunology to explain the uses of blood collection, and introduced the works of the pharmaceutical department by explaining the pharmaceutical experiments. After listening to his explanation, a colleague said, "You are doing an amazing thing.

For Fapon, the pharmaceutical business is the future of the company; for people, a good medicine can save a lot of lives, so I hope you can get results soon." It echoes the mission of Fapon Biopharma: Developing innovative biologics that are safer, more efficacious, affordable, and accessible. However, it takes 10 to 15 years of R&D and clinical validation for a medicine to be successfully launched on the market, for which Devin said, "Either from the perspective of capital or livelihood, people work in pharmaceutical industry should have a strong sense of mission and great responsibility to motivate and promote our careers.”
